transplantsApril 15, 2003 ... a couple of pictures of the new greenhouse in use.
When plants are large enough they are transplanted from the cups to the grow beds in the garden area after the threat of spring frost has passed

The greenhouse will be used for crops like lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, etc. during the late fall and early winter. The greenhouse can also be used for winter storage of squash, onions, etc.

For extremely cold nights we have added a wood stove for soil temperature stabilization, of the soil in the raised bed growing area which we added down the center. This raised bed is used for growing "out of season" vegetables and worm production.

As a side note ... when we built this greenhouse in 2003 our out of pocket cost for materials was in the $4.00 per square foot range. That's pretty economical for a well insulated building.
